From May 9th to 12th, the 7th China Dreamland Fuqing Shizhushan Dream Culture Festival and Cross-Strait (Fuqing) Taoism Forum was held in Fuqing, Fuzhou. The theme of this year's Dream Culture Festival is "Blessing the Chinese Dream and Carnation", which aims to give full play to the unique advantages of the same origin and close ties between the Taoist circles on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, promote the excellent traditional Chinese culture, promote the spiritual harmony of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and enhance the awareness of a community of shared future , to broadly gather the consensus and strength to realize the great cause of peaceful reunification of the motherland and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
This year's Dream Culture Festival is organized by the Ethnic and Religious Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Chinese Taoist Association, the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the United Front Work Department of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, the Fujian Provincial Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, and the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Fujian Province. On May 10, the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Cross-Strait Dream Culture Exchange Base (Bifu Pavilion) in Shizhushan was held. As a provincial key project approved by the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission in 2022, the base (Bifu Pavilion) has received care and support from Taoist friends on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong and Macao, as well as from all walks of life since its establishment. The construction of Shizhushan Cross-Strait Dream Culture Exchange Base (Bifu Pavilion) project will help to inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture, carry forward the essence of Shizhushan Dream Culture, and enhance the urban image of Fuqing, the hometown of overseas Chinese.

In the afternoon of the same day, one of the agendas of this year's Dream Culture Festival, "Sinicization of Taoism" was held in Fuqing Xianjing Palace. Zhou Gaode, Honorary Dean of Strait Taoist College and a native of Donghangdao, explained the Tao Te Ching to the participating scholars.
During the lecture activities, Zhou Gaode studied and explained the "Tao Te Ching" from the perspective of Taoist belief and practice, combined with the progress of Taoism in China, constantly promoted Taoism to keep pace with the times, and innovated Taoist doctrines. Scholars shared his "method" for savoring the "Tao Te Ching". Zhou Gaode emphasized that the "Tao Te Ching" is broad and profound, and it is the pioneering work of Taoism. It is a master of Taoist culture and one of the representatives of oriental wisdom. Well-being plays a profound role.

Cross-strait (Fuqing) Taoism Forum
On May 11, the Cross-strait (Fuqing) Taoist Forum was held. Xie Rongzeng, president of the Taoist Association of Fujian Province, said in his speech that Fujian and Taiwan face each other across the sea, and the religious beliefs on both sides of the strait have the unique advantage of being inherited in one continuous line. The bridge of cultural exchanges between the four places continues to play an active role in maintaining blood ties and enhancing the identity of the Chinese nation.
During the forum, representatives of the Taoist circles and academic circles on both sides of the Taiwan Strait gave keynote speeches on the theme of "connecting Taoism and integrating development" to discuss Taoist culture and contemporary social development.
Shizhu Mountain is a sacred place of Taoism in China and a national 4A-level tourist attraction, known as the "Chinese Dreamland". The Taoist culture of Shizhu Mountain, centered on the belief in Nine Immortals, the custom of praying for dreams, and the folk custom of spring festival, is well-known at home and abroad, and has exerted a great influence on Chinese people all over the world. Since 2008, the Chinese Dreamland Fuqing Shizhushan Dream Culture Festival has been successfully held six times, gathering tens of thousands of believers from both sides of the strait to pray for their dreams and share their friendship. The 2nd to 7th Shizhushan Dream Cultural Festivals were all approved by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and listed as key exchange projects with Taiwan.
