Darktable 4.4 Released, Open Source Alternative to Adobe Lightroom

Darktable is an open source alternative to Adobe Lightroom. It is a graphics tool that helps professional photographers manage and post-process photos. Users can view and edit photos through the software.

The current version 4.4 of Darktable has been released, bringing many new features, performance improvements, new camera support, and more.

  • Ability to define multiple automatically applied presets for a single processing module
  • Modify the default parameters of various processing modules
  • Support for chroma adaptation workflow settings and Sigmoid display conversion modules in default workflow configuration options
  • Overhauled mask function for draw
  • Several performance improvements and enhancements to many processing modules and core routines
  • Added OpenCL support to the Sigmoid module
  • Added OpenMP support for XCF export and RGBE loader
  • Modified pixelpipe code and caching strategy
  • Improved guided Laplacian specular reconstruction mode to use less resources
  • Improved sliders and widgets to be more responsive
