The 15th "China Society for Electrical Engineering Cup" National Undergraduate Electrical Mathematical Modeling Contest

Under the guidance of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering and with the full support of colleges and universities across the country, the "Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering Cup" National Undergraduate Electrical Mathematical Modeling Contest has been successfully held for 14 sessions, with more than a thousand participating universities and nearly 1,000 participating students. 100,000 people is currently one of the most influential college student competitions in China that can significantly improve students' innovative awareness and overall quality. After research and discussion, the Electrical Mathematics Special Committee of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering decided to start the organization of the 2023 "Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering Cup" National Undergraduate Electrical Mathematical Modeling Contest (the 15th session). The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

1. Purpose of the competition

The "China Society for Electrical Engineering Cup" National Undergraduate Electrical Mathematical Modeling Contest is a nationwide subject competition for college students. Cultivate innovative ability and collaborative spirit; improve students' comprehensive ability of mathematical modeling and analysis for practical problems; attract and encourage students to actively participate in extracurricular scientific and technological activities, and create conditions for outstanding talents to stand out and serve social development.

2. Competition content and requirements

1. Competition content:

The competition topics generally come from electrical engineering, modern mathematics, and economic management, and are properly simplified and processed practical problems, mainly including: information processing and prediction, control theory and application, operational research and decision-making, circuit and electromagnetic field theory related issues.

2. Competition requirements:

Knowledge and skill requirements: Students participating in the competition should master the basic knowledge of engineering mathematics courses and related majors in ordinary colleges and universities, and have certain computer programming skills.

Submit competition papers: The content of the competition papers involves model assumptions, establishment and solution, algorithm design and computer implementation, result analysis and testing, model improvement, etc. The evaluation of competition papers is mainly based on the rationality of assumptions, the creativity of modeling, the feasibility of results and the logic of expression.

3. Conditions and methods of participation

1. Participation conditions: All full-time students in ordinary colleges and universities across the country can participate. Students sign up for the competition in teams. Cross-school teams are not allowed. Each team can have a maximum of 3 students and a maximum of 1 instructor. The number of participating teams in each institution unlimited. The participating teams register through the national competition special network.

2. Participation method: The students of the participating team participate free of charge, prepare according to the requirements of the competition topic, and finally complete the modeling test solution and thesis writing, and submit the competition paper to the competition organizing committee (electronic documents only).

4. Important time nodes in the competition-related process

1. April 2023: The registration notice for the 15th National Undergraduate Electrical Engineering Mathematical Contest in Modeling will be issued.

2. 8:00, May 26-8:00, May 29, 2023 (72 hours): competition time.

3. Before 8:00 on May 29, 2023: Submit the electronic version of the paper (see the website notice http://shumo.neepu.edu.cn for details).

4. Early June 2023: Competition marking.

5. July 2023: Announcement of competition results and winners.

6. November 2023: The award ceremony for award-winning representatives is planned to be held at the Academic Annual Conference of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, and specific matters will be notified separately.

5. Awards

1. The National Organizing Committee organizes a national expert group to be responsible for the competition marking work; through retesting, comprehensive evaluation and other review links, select the national competition winning candidate team.

2. The National Organizing Committee determines the national first, second and third prizes based on the review results of the national expert group. The first prize accounts for about 5%, the second prize accounts for about 15%, and the third prize accounts for about 25%.

6. Organization and division of labor
