On May 22, the website of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences has updated the introduction of the current leaders. Academician Zhou Qi, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and member of the party group, is also the party secretary and president of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences .
According to reports, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, referred to as "UCAS", is an innovative university with the integration of science and education as the school-running model, postgraduate education as the main body of school-running, and elite undergraduate education as its school-running characteristics.
The postgraduate education of UCAS originated from the talent cultivation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1950, the Chinese Academy of Sciences started the recruitment and training of research interns. In September 1964, the Chinese Academy of Sciences piloted the "Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences" in Beijing. In 1977, the Chinese Academy of Sciences took the lead in resuming the enrollment of graduate students. In order to meet the needs of various research institutes to recruit and train graduate students, the Graduate School of the University of Science and Technology of China was established in Beijing. In 1978, the first batch of graduate students enrolled after resuming enrollment. In 1982, the Party Group of the Chinese Academy of Sciences approved the Graduate School to use the two names of "Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences" and "Graduate School of University of Science and Technology of China". In December 2000, the school changed its name to the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2005, the School of Management of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was merged into the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In June 2012, the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was renamed the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and began to recruit undergraduates in 2014.
Academician Li Shushen previously served as Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Brief introduction of Academician Zhou Qi
Zhou Qi, male, Han nationality, born in 1970, is from Heilongjiang. Doctor, Researcher, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician of Academy of Sciences of the Developing World.
In September 1987, Zhou Qi was admitted to Northeast Agricultural University, and successively obtained a bachelor's degree, a master's degree (1994), and a doctorate of science degree (1996).
In March 1997, he entered the postdoctoral mobile station of the Institute of Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and was qualified as an associate researcher.
In March 1999, he went to the Department of Molecular Developmental Biology of the French National Agricultural Research Center for postdoctoral research and served as the project leader (until 2002). During his study abroad, he was employed as an overseas special policy expert by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
In 2001, he was selected into the Hundred Talents Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In December 2002, he returned from studying in France and joined the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a researcher and doctoral supervisor.
In May 2004, served as deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Biology for Family Planning (until December 2011).
In 2005, he was supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.
In June 2008, Assistant to the Director of the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (until June 2012).
In December 2011, he served as the director of the State Key Laboratory of Stem Cell and Reproductive Biology (formerly the State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Biology of Family Planning).
In June 2012, he served as the deputy director of the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In 2013, he was selected as the first batch of scientific and technological innovation leaders in the "Ten Thousand Talents Program".
In 2014, he was elected as the chairman of the International Stem Cell Organization.
On December 7, 2015, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In January 2016, he served as the vice president of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and also served as the director of the academic committee of the school, in charge of scientific research (until October 2017). On June 12, he was elected as a member of the Fifth Agricultural GMO Safety Committee. In November, he won the Biology Award at the 27th Academician Conference of the Academy of Sciences of the Developing World.
In July 2017, he became the director of the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (one year trial period).
In October 2017, he was elected as an alternate member of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
On January 16, 2018, he was elected as an academician of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World.
In August 2018, he was elected as the vice chairman (part-time) of the 10th China Federation of Overseas Chinese.
He is currently the vice president and member of the party group of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, concurrently the director of the Science and Technology Innovation Development Center, the president of Beijing Branch, the chairman of the Beijing Institute of Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, the secretary of the party committee and the president (concurrently) of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Research areas include reproduction, development, stem cell research and transformation. He has won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award, the Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievement Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Zhou Guangzhao Foundation Outstanding Youth Basic Science Award, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Progress Award, the genOway International Transgenic Technology Award, and the Biology Award of the Academy of Sciences of the Developing World (TWAS), etc. Tech awards.
