Meituan's scientific research cooperation relies on rich business scenarios and real industrial problems, connects Meituan's technical team and academia, and builds an efficient industry-university-research cooperation platform.
In the past four years, Meituan has cooperated with more than 30 well-known universities and scientific research institutions at home and abroad, focusing on artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, operational optimization, big data, information infrastructure and other research fields. , CVPR, ACL, KDD and other top conferences have published papers, and some cooperation results have been implemented in the Meituan business scene.

How to apply
Full-time scholars and researchers in domestic universities and scientific research institutes can apply to participate in the scientific research cooperation of Meituan. Applicants should have good independent research ability and be able to lead student teams to participate in projects.
(1) Select and understand the topic. Please refer to the "Topic List" at the end of the article, find the topic you are interested in, and send it to us via your work email ([email protected]), and you will receive detailed information on the topic within 24 hours. Please indicate "2023 Meituan Scientific Research Cooperation" in the title of the email, and leave your name and unit in the email.
(2) Prepare and submit proposals. Download the Proposal Template (click to download the document) and submit your application through the online application (click to access). The system can be submitted multiple times, and the last submitted information will prevail.
Evaluation method
We will comprehensively consider the academic background and commitment of the applicant and the team, the degree of matching between the proposal and the topic, as well as the advancement, feasibility and business value of the proposal itself. The evaluation is divided into two stages: letter evaluation and final evaluation.
In the letter evaluation stage, your proposal will be cross-evaluated by a number of Meituan technical experts, and the results of the letter evaluation will be notified by email.
If your proposal passes the letter evaluation, the corresponding technical director of Meituan will contact you to jointly revise and optimize the proposal. The final version of the proposal will be discussed and reviewed by 3-5 Meituan experts, and finally determine whether to approve the project.
Project Description
1. Subject type
(1) Exploratory topics: oriented towards frontier technology verification, new method attempts, and exploration of new fields.
(2) Practical topics: oriented towards solving actual business needs, focusing on business implementation.
The results of both types of projects can include papers, patents, reports, prototypes, technical solutions, models, source codes, etc.; the final deliverables are subject to specific project needs and negotiations between the two parties.
2. Funding and support
(1) Provide financial support for the project, usually 100,000 to 200,000 yuan for exploratory projects, and 200,000 to 500,000 yuan for practical projects.
(2) Provide no less than 2 on-site intern positions for each subject.
(3) Provide a green channel for the fresh graduates of the cooperative teacher team.
(4) According to the specific needs of the project, provide desensitized data sets under the premise of legal compliance.
3. Supplementary Notes
The project period is generally 6 to 12 months.
