In a blink of an eye, I have been using ArchLinux for 5 years. During this period, I tried to beautify the desktop environment Plasma, and the user experience is closer to MacOS.

Preliminary knowledge
ArchLinux is a distribution of the Linux operating system, which is characterized by simplicity, light weight, and rolling updates. The customization ability is also very high, suitable for small partners with strong hands-on ability.
Plasma is a free desktop environment maintained by the KDE open source community. This desktop environment is also highly customizable. You can customize themes, application icons, boot screens, window styles, etc. Moreover, a large number of enthusiasts have contributed many excellent plug-ins, just search and install them directly.
app icon
Recently, it has just been replaced by the icon library McmoJave Circles Icon [1] contributed by the designer vinceliuice . The icon library imitates the design style of MacOS and provides a variety of colors. And it is completely open source, the GitHub link is vinceliuice-McMojave-circle [2] . Download the icon library, select and apply it in 设置

wallpaper
I hope that the desktop should be as simple as possible and the wallpaper should be more natural. After an hour of careful selection, I finally chose the picture below as the wallpaper. The link is here [3] , and the friends who need the original picture can pick it up.
dock bar
The dock column uses the latte-dock [4] developed by KDE , and it is very convenient to set up. I exported the settings to a file for easy configuration. If you need it, you can refer to my dotfiles warehouse [5] to find kde-plasma-setting/assets/plasma.layout.latte
the file and import it into the dock. Can.
Recovery and Backup
Due to the relatively cumbersome and complicated desktop environment settings, the download and installation will be slow if the network is not good. I found a plug-in PlasmaConfSaver [6] , which can easily backup and restore plasma configurations, and can dynamically switch between multiple configurations.
You only need to install the control, and then import the configured and exported configuration file dotfiles/kde-plasma-setting/assets/kde-mcmojave-default.tar.gz
into your own environment, which greatly simplifies the process. PlasmaConfSaver video introduction [7] .
Summarize
For software engineers, laptops and operating systems are important productivity tools that can help us do many things.
This article combines the author's own 5 years of Linux experience, starting from the most basic desktop environment settings, to provide you with a quick way to set up the Linux Plasma desktop environment, hoping to give a reference to students who want to try Linux.
