KDE Plasma 6 is the highly anticipated upgrade to the desktop environment.

The Plasma widget API has been modified with upcoming releases. And, to adapt to this change and keep running, widget developers must port their creations to newer APIs.
If the developer does not port the widget to use the updated API, it will not run in KDE Plasma 6.
Of course, popular widget developers are likely to make ports. However, if you are using a widget that still works but is not actively maintained, you will have to abandon it in KDE Plasma 6.

You can find Plasma 6 compatible widgets under “Plasma 6 Extensions”. At the time of writing, only two third-party widgets can be seen listed.
So when your favorite widgets are ported to KDE Plasma 6 and uploaded by the relevant developers, you'll find traces of them.
