Today I would like to share with you the "Top 8 Most Demanded Programming Languages in 2022" list released by DevJobsScanner not long ago.
DevJobsScanner has analyzed more than 12 million developer job requirements in the past 14 months (from October 2021 to November 2022) , and selected job opportunities that clearly require programming languages.
The top eight languages with the highest demand in the market are:
一、JavaScript / TypeScript
JavaScript is the most popular programming language, with 62.5% of respondents claiming to use JavaScript, according to StackOverflow's annual survey data. JavaScript is undoubtedly the dominant language of the web world, and it has grown tremendously over the past decade.
TypeScript's popularity has only grown in recent years , and many new JavaScript frameworks, such as Angular or NestJS, are written entirely in TypeScript.
From October 2021 to November 2022 (fourteen months), DevJobsScanner identified a total of 801K job opportunities, accounting for approximately 31% of jobs with explicit programming language requirements.

2. Python
Python becomes the second most in-demand programming language in 2022. Python is very beginner-friendly not only because it has been around for decades, giving programmers enough time to write excellent tutorials, but also because Python's syntax is very understandable and versatile .
Over the 14 months, researchers identified 515,000 jobs, or 20 percent.

3. JAVA
Java is the third most in-demand programming language, heavily used by 90% of Fortune 500 companies. Since its birth in 1995, it has been almost 28 years. Popular career paths in Java include Backend Developer, Big Data Developer, Embedded Systems Engineer, or Android Developer.
While Java isn't the "most trending" language right now, it's used so frequently that we can almost guarantee that it won't be obsolete in the next decade or more.

It has a wide range of applications in the industry, and C++ can be seen in many places such as video games, servers, databases, and even space probes.

7. Ruby
Ruby came in seventh, finding 125,000 jobs (about 5% of total job demand) . Ruby is one of the most beloved programming languages, designed to be friendly and easy for developers to use, and its tagline is "a programmer's best friend."
Ruby is a high-level language designed to do a lot in a few lines of clean, readable code, and it's most popular used in conjunction with the Web framework Ruby on Rails.

Eight, Go
Go comes from a well-known background and was created by Google 12 years ago. Google designed Go to make programming more productive in the age of multi-core, networked machines, and large code bases.
As shown in the figure below: The popularity of Go is slowly growing, because the Go language is easy to learn, so an average college student can write a high-performance application that can be used in one week. DevJobsScanner predicts that the language may break into the top five by 2023. Google, Twitch, Baidu, Xiaomi, Huawei, and others are using Go.

DevJobsScanner notes that, as in previous years, programming languages JavaScript, Java, and Python remain the most in-demand skills ; and that, for the most part, demand and supply for the three most popular languages are consistent between developers and recruiters of.
Javascript and Typescript clearly dominate the developer job market , accounting for 31% of jobs that explicitly require a programming language, which equates to almost one in every three jobs requiring Javascript or Typescript.
Python and Java, provide a lot of job opportunities. But it's worth noting that Java is closing the gap on Python, with Java outnumbering Python for several months in the survey.
C#, C/C++, and PHP are also languages to watch because of their consistent upward trend. For example, in October 2021, the demand for PHP only accounted for 5% of the total demand, but by November 2022, it accounted for nearly 10%, almost doubling.
