1. After installing Oracle 11G Client it can be found in the start menu

Select NETCA->Local Net Service Name Configuration

Select Add local network service name configuration

The service name here: refers to the database name

Set up a C/S client in the network and select the TCP type

Enter the IP address of the server and select the default port

Test whether it is connected
