JIRA Chinese Tutorial: Creating Issues

To create a JIRA issue, you need to have the Create Issues permission on the project related to the issue. If you do not have this permission, please contact the JIRA administrator.

Create a new JIRA issue

  1. Click Create at the top of the screen to open the Create Issue dialog.

  2. Select the appropriate project and issue type in the Create Issue dialog.
  3. Summarize the question and complete the appropriate fields –  * is required.
    (info) If you want to access fields that are not displayed in this dialog or want to hide existing fields:
    • Click the Configure Fields button at the top right of the screen.
    • Click Custom and then use the checkboxes to hide or show the relevant fields individually, or click All to show all fields.
      (info) The next time you create an issue, JIRA will remember the fields you selected last.
  4. Select: Select the Create another checkbox at the bottom of the dialog to create a series of similar questions of the same project and type.
  5. When satisfied with your question content, click the Create button.

(info)If the Create another checkbox is selected, a new question creation dialog will appear. Some fields will be pre-populated based on previous configuration. Be sure to make sure all fields are correct before creating the next question.

  • You can remind other users through the Description or Comment fields. After clicking the Update button, an email will be sent to the user's mailbox (used when registering a JIRA account).
  • Questions for certain text fields, can link to other questions, insert macros, insert pictures, etc.
  • To see a list of all issues that have been created but not resolved, go to your username and click Profile > Filters > Reported & Open .
  • You can automatically become a viewer of issues you create, set by Autowatch in your user profile . Note that if you do not change this setting, you will inherit the permissions set by the JIRA administrator (set via > System > User Preferences ).Settings button 
  • Issues can also be created via email after proper configuration by the JIRA administrator.
  • If you are using a Scrum board, you can add issues to your backlog by creating inline issues.
