Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to hold the 5th Dubai International Project Management Forum in December 2018

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai will hold its fifth edition of the Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF) from December 8 to 11, 2018 under the theme “Building a Nation” (Building Nations). Co-organizers of the event include Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), DP World, Emaar Group (EMAAR) and Project Management Institute (PMI). The forum will be open for registration through the website ( www.dipmf.ae ) from May 3, 2018 .

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General of RTA and Chairman of the Executive Board, said: “The holding of the DIPMF is part of the RTA’s efforts to play an active role in leading the development momentum in the region. A link between global industry gurus who share expertise, concepts and vision. The Forum has grown into a global platform for many visionary international experts whose creative ideas play a positive role in the successful delivery of many large-scale projects."

 "Building a nation" is the theme of this year's forum, which coincides with the UAE government's designation of 2018 as "The Year of Zayed". The Year of Zayed commemorates the role of the late President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in establishing the UAE and his remarkable achievements locally and globally, and underlines his love for the country and its people.

 Forum topics include: future/history of project management; project management maturity; artificial intelligence in project management; project management innovation and digital/digital transformation project management, etc. Professional training courses held concurrently with the Forum cover areas such as leadership, quality and competition.

 The Hamdan bin Mohammed Award for Innovation in ProjectManagement will be awarded during the fifth DIPMF. The total prize money increased by 29% to AED 2.6 million (approximately US$ 710,000). With the addition of academic awards, the award categories have been increased to four. Academic awards include the Innovative Project Management Science Research Award and the Innovative Project Management Award (Academic). The second category (company category) includes three awards: innovative ideas in project management, innovative ideas in project management, and innovative ideas in project portfolios. The third category (individuals) includes the innovation project manager and the director of the innovation project management office. The fourth category (team category) includes the Innovation Team Award.
