We have 13 old classmates from the 53rd grade of the Department of History of Peking University who stayed in Beijing. They are all in their 80s and 90s. Most of them are old and sickly, and it is inconvenient to go out. Classmates and friends He Lingxiu's body bowed and said goodbye, and signed on the signature book of the farewell ceremony of He Lingxiu's body - the name of the only representative of our old classmates from the 53rd grade of the Department of History of Peking University.

He Lingxiu is a member of the Honorary Division of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and a researcher of the Qing History Office. He and I were classmates and friends of the 53rd grade of the History Department of Peking University . We entered Peking University in 1953 and graduated in 1958. During the five years of studying together at Peking University, we had a very good relationship. The two of us are Tong Geng, both born in 1933, both belong to the Rooster. He Lingxiu was a few days older than me. He Lingxiu was born on November 30, 1933 in Xiangxiang County, Hunan Province. I was born on December 13, 1933, in Sanyuan County, Shaanxi Province. He Lingxiu was only 13 days older than me. But he always treats me and cares about me like a big brother treats my younger brother emotionally. He Lingxiu is honest, honest, straightforward, kind-hearted, and friendly. After graduation, since the early 1980s, my old classmate He Lingxiu has been in constant contact with me through letters and phone calls. I have visited him many times in Beijing, including his home in a single room on the second floor of the office building of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and his current home in Warwickshire. In the spring of 2003, the old classmates of Beijing No. 2 Middle School met, and I asked Professor Rao Lianglun, an old classmate from Heilongjiang University, to come to Beijing for a reunion. He Lingxiu took the initiative to arrange for me to live in his home in Warwick West, which is relatively close to the No. 2 Middle School. I was warmly received by their husband and wife. We talked for a long time about the friendship between Yanyuan classmates for five years. He Lingxiu has suffered from Parkinson's disease for a long time. In 2003, he was at his home in Beijing. At that time, I found that his hands were shaking and trembling , which seemed to be the early symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
