Project needs analysis

Due to the lack of depth of the first questionnaire survey, we chose to conduct a second survey by means of interviews: the interview users were the person in charge of the Heritage Bookstore of the Institute of Technology and the two managers of Fangcaoshe Book Bank. The content of the interview is as follows:

We are planning to make a website related to library management. We want to investigate how many people borrow books and how many there are.

The specific questions are:

1. If there are not many borrowers, what do you think is the main reason? For example: No need? Too troublesome? Or lack of publicity?
2. What solutions are needed? Do you need an online platform to manage?
3. If there are many borrowers, is it more beneficial to adopt online management?
4. What do you need for such a management platform?

Survey User 1's responses:

The number of borrowers in this semester is 20+, and the number of borrowers is 70+.

Regarding the first question: there are not many people, and the reasons are probably: the publicity is narrow, and there are not many people who know about the library; a large proportion of borrowers are students from the Institute of Technology, and many students from other colleges may not borrow books even if they know about it; Most of them are textbooks, and there may be a greater demand when the school starts; for the same kind of book, most students should choose the library first, or they may find it troublesome and so on.

Regarding the second, third and fourth questions: an online platform should be needed. On the one hand, it is convenient for staff to manage borrowing and returning. On the other hand, if the platform can be used to increase publicity and allow students to borrow books online If it is a book, it should be more beneficial to the library. If feasible, it can provide multi-person collaborative document management to facilitate the registration of different personnel on duty, as well as the library book list query, online registration, and appointment borrowing.

Survey User 2's responses:

Internal management: There are several functions that may be needed temporarily, such as check-in on duty, database of all current books, message boards, and records of borrowing and returning books (how does this connect with the user's QAQ)

To attract users, it may require the efforts of both parties. We have not given a complete plan for the time being, and we can discuss it slowly.

demand analysis:

From the user survey, in terms of the degree of participation with the whole school, the main factors are: publicity! Competitors exist! Borrowing trouble!

After discussion we decided:

1. From the perspective of library management personnel, start with the internal functions of library management to ensure the first batch of users.

2. In the process of gradual production, consider the next survey and conduct a competitive analysis.

3. For users, the function design should be concise and convenient, and consider discussing with the front-end group and the beauty tool body in the next meeting.
