The sudden acceleration of the digitization process caused by the epidemic has also promoted the rapid development of low-code. Mendix has been leading the low-code market and promoting the formation of the low-code market. With the urgent need for businesses to digitize operations and user interactions and support remote and hybrid work models, low-code has become the development technology of choice. By adopting advanced low-code platforms, including Mendix, enterprise digital initiatives redefine how businesses are digital now and in the future.

Mendix earns top marks for 'Collaborative App Development' use case

As part of this report, Gartner evaluated low-code vendors on a number of key use cases. Mendix stands out among all vendors in Gartner's 2021 Report on Critical Capabilities of Enterprise Low-Code Application Platforms, earning top marks in "Collaborative Application Development" and in "Custom Business Applications" and "Business Workflow Automation" Outstanding.

Collaborative application development: The underlying principle of the Mendix platform is to ensure smooth collaboration between business and IT. Ensuring this collaboration during development is also a core value point of enabling low-code, which is delivering better software faster.

Mendix's emphasis on collaboration is reflected in its unique platform architecture consisting of two IDEs: Mendix Studio is designed for business experts and citizen developers who lack technical expertise, and users can use it to build their own applications or for more complex applications. applications to increase the content of their business areas. Mendix Studio Pro enables professional developers to create highly complex enterprise-level solutions. The two IDEs share a common model language and can synchronize in both directions, so even development teams with different skill sets or using different IDEs are always in sync. The platform features an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, AI tools to aid development, real-time communication between developers, and version control capabilities that enhance collaboration on the platform.

Take VGZ, the second-largest health insurance company in the Netherlands, which used Mendix's collaborative development environment to build a mobile application that better serves customers. Originally designed to simplify the insurance claims process by using OCR to scan invoices and automate invoice processing, the app has since grown to support all tasks and answer all customer policy questions.

Rob Polman, Head of Product at VGZ, said: “Mendix helps bring early-stage, single-task mobile apps to market quickly. Over the next few years, we use the Mendix platform to upgrade it into a feature-rich full-fledged mobile app product, and now it supports over one million customer sessions per month. Throughout the process, from the earliest iterations, the Mendix platform has provided our business and IT teams with a fully collaborative BizDevOps process.”

Nearly 75,000 reviewers gave the app high scores of 4.5 and 4.6 in both the Android and Apple App Stores, and customers using the app had significantly improved NPS scores, both testament to the app's success.

Custom business applications: More and more users are using Mendix to create large-scale enterprise applications from scratch. As the speed of enterprise digitization increases, limited customization in off-the-shelf software solutions has been unable to help enterprises respond to changing market conditions and the rapid introduction of new technologies in a timely manner. Traditional models of custom software development are often not budget-friendly and not agile enough to deliver the latest experience end users expect.

With the Mendix low-code platform, businesses can easily incorporate numerous technologies including AI, AR and IoT into their solutions. Mendix Data Hub ensures that users have timely access to enterprise data sources. At the same time, the functionality of Data Hub's cross-platform experience and smooth and modern UI interface can provide an excellent user experience, and supports conversational interfaces, native mobile and progressive web applications.

Mitsubishi Elevator Europe used Mendix to create a range of purpose-built applications, including field service applications and IoT-driven monitoring systems, and then integrated them into a unified overall maintenance solution.
