Space competition
The space race is a three-week period to encourage miners to increase storage on the network and achieve transaction quality goals. In the competition, the miners competed for a prize of 4 million FIL. At the end of the competition, 230PiB of storage was added to the network—more than twice the original goal. 400 miners from six continents participated in this event. After learning lessons, they carried out eight network upgrades and fixed dozens of vulnerabilities and performance. The community also held a series of technical lectures, seminars and in-depth research, which can be found on the Filecoin Youtube channel. Space Race 1 is so successful that it must be done again. Slate starts
Slate is a completely open source file sharing network, built by Protocol Labs for Filecoin for research and collaboration. Slate allows users to store, organize, and safely share data with the world. The release of Slate brought more than 600 new users and became the fifth product of the day on ProductHunt.
