Chief Operating Officer Brendan Albee has been promoted to partner
Two managers were promoted to senior managing directors, and the company appointed a new head of North American financial services

Brendan joined Värde in 2014 as the company's chief operating officer, responsible for global accounting, finance, valuation, operations and technology functions. He is based in Minneapolis and is a member of the company's investment committee, senior leadership committee, and operating committee. He is also actively involved in the company's fund and product development and corporate risk management.
Prior to joining Värde, Brendan served as Global Chief Operating Officer of the Alternative Asset Management, Equity, Structured Products, Asset Services and Securities Operations team at Barclays Bank. Prior to Barclays, Brendan held various positions in the audit, investment banking and strategy departments of JPMorgan Chase for more than ten years.
At the same time that Brendan was appointed, Värde announced the promotion of two managers to senior managing directors:
- Ria Nova, the head of business development and investor relations in the Americas, is also responsible for overseeing the work of the company's consultants, intermediaries and product experts. She is based in New York and joined the company in 2017.
- Michael Reimler, Global Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for leading and managing the accounting and financial reporting of Vӓrde investment funds, general partner entities and management companies, as well as leading and managing the company's financial functions. He is based in Minneapolis and joined the company in 2010.
In addition, Värde recently hired Monty Cook as the head of North American financial services. Monty, based in New York, is responsible for leading the company's financial services asset investments throughout North America, focusing on private credit investments in traditional and emerging asset classes. He reports to Aneek Mamik, global co-head of financial services.

Before joining Värde, Monty was the head of financial services at First Eagle Alternative Credit. Monty also worked for THL Credit (later acquired by First Eagle) for seven years and most recently served as the co-head of the direct loan business. Before joining THL Credit, Monty served as a director of Deutsche Bank's Credit Solutions Group, responsible for finding and structuring credit investments for many professional finance and other asset classes.
