General pricing principle

With AWS Snowcone, you only pay for the use of the device and the data transferred from AWS. Using Snowcone offline data transmission to AWS does not incur any transmission costs. For online data transmission pricing using AWS DataSync, refer to DataSync pricing for details. Once the data is stored in the AWS Cloud, standard pricing applies.

For AWS Snowcone, a service fee must be paid for each operation, including a 5-day on-site usage fee and an on-site usage fee for equipment beyond 5 days. For large-volume deployment, specific discussions with the AWS sales team are required.

Price details

Service fee per task: This is a one-time installation fee for each job ordered through the console, including five days of on-site use. Delivery days are not counted in these five days, including the day the device is received and shipped back to AWS. The table below lists pricing by region.

Cost per task per day: 5 days before the on-site use is included in the service fee. If the device is retained for more than 5 days, you will be charged for the number of days the device is retained. The daily costs are broken down by region as follows.

The cost of loss also includes the requirement to return the equipment if the carrier is not provided. The lost and found fee for ice cream cones is $2,000.

Pricing example

Example 1 : Import of 5TB data in the US West (Oregon) region
only needs to pay a service fee (60 USD) for one device. As long as the data is loaded to the device in less than five days and shipped back to AWS, there will be no additional daily charges.
Since offline data import is free, the total service fee is $60, and there is no additional daily fee.

Example 2 : A customer in the western United States (Oregon) who distributes 15TB of data at a time
will pay the service fee for two devices ($60 2=$120). Assuming that the equipment stays on site for more than five days, an extra day will be paid for each equipment ($6 2=$12). Data transfer fee ($0.03/GB * 1,024GB * 15 = $460.80).
The total cost is US$592.80. Service fee $120 + extra daily fee $12 + data transfer fee $460.80.

Example 3 : Continuous online data transmission from the laboratory to the western United States (Oregon).
Assuming that the customer has a laboratory environment in Denver, the customer wants to bring the laboratory's research results data and images (3TB per day) back to AWS for analysis and machine Study and archive indefinitely. The laboratory lacks local IT infrastructure, so it needs to deploy an AWS Snowcone device for on-site storage and enable data synchronization on Snowcone for online transmission.
First of all, you should contact the AWS sales department to discuss the personalized pricing of long-term AWS Snowcone deployment and storage, because maybe the Amazon S3 environment you need will grow to more than 1 PB within a year.

The following are estimates based on public pricing. You will pay a work fee of $60 for the snow cone, plus the extra days ( $ 360 6) to use the snow cone: $2,160. You also need to pay the cost of copying data to AWS: 3TB 1,024GB $0.0125/GB 31 days = $190.40/month (93TB transmission), or $14/month. 1.095PB data transfer volume, 016/year.

Based on the catalog price, the total annual cost is $16,236.
