1. Obtain the new version file of H3C switch
Search for the device model on Baidu: H3C S5500-SI, you can get the exact software version of the device, or you can enter the official website to find it in the product.
Go to the homepage and click on the relevant software to select the required version to download (Note: To download the software, you need to log in and register for an account; or become an H3C customer, find after-sales to obtain an account that can be downloaded.)

2. Transfer files and upgrade the new version via ftp
After downloading the software, unzip it and you will get 3
files. After downloading the version file, use the host as an ftp server, use FTP to load the file, and use the switch as an ftp client to get the file.

After the construction is completed, put the version file in the FTP file directory, in the local area network, you can access ftp through ftp:\ip
第一步：通过FTP的相关命令将软件下载到本地交换机上。
在交换机的<>模式下，ftp服务器ip地址登录，通过 get 命令获取需要导入的文件全名(包含后缀名)

<H3C> cd S5500SI-CMW520-R2222P10
<H3C>get S5500SI-BTM-621.btm
<H3C>get S5500SI-CMW520-R2222P10.bin

第二步：在交换机上升级BOOTROM。
<H3C>bootrom update file S5500SI-BTM-621.btm slot 1

第三步：在交换机上升级主机软件
si5500交换机的flash的存储空间小，只有16M，而S5500SI-CMW520-R2222P10.bin大小为13M，它无法容纳两个版本的文件，可以先删除文件，操作如下：
<H3C>delete unit1>flash:/s31ei_e-cmw310-r2108P04.bin
执行第一步以后的文件并没有彻底删除，是存放在回收站里面，当执行undelete命令后会进行恢复操作，所以如果需要进行版本升级，需要清空回收站
<H3C>reset recycle-bin #清空
<H3C> boot-loader file S5500-SI.bin slot all main
<H3C> display boot-loader
第四步：重新启动交换机。
<H3C> reboot
第五步 ：查看升级后的版本
<H3C> display version

3. Things to pay attention to when upgrading
Error when get file error occurs
When obtaining the .bin upgrade file through get, confirm whether the size of the flash space of the switch can be satisfied (If the space is insufficient, it will report an error and cannot be downloaded. Please delete the original configuration file. When deleting again, the switch can be configured as an FTP server, and the PC will configure the file Back up to the local first to avoid accidents.)
Another thing to note is that you must enter the folder of the ftp server, as shown in the figure below. ftp 192.168.10.2 logs in to the server, and direct download will report an error.
