IPFS Weekly-Issue 91: The countdown to 2020 diversified camps begins!

Protocol laboratory compilation IPFS force zone compilation

The Interplanetary File System (IPFS) is a new hypermedia distribution protocol, addressing by content and identity. IPFS supports the creation of fully distributed applications, and its purpose is to make the network faster, safer, and more open.

Here are some highlights of this IPFS weekly report:

01. Refactor DHT

At the end of April, we released the biggest update to date: go-ipfs 0.5.0. This upgrade brings major performance and reliability improvements to IPFS—especially in content discovery and routing. We want to take you through our journey of rewriting DHT.

02. Release js-ipfs 0.44.0

Last week, we released the latest version of js-ipfs, version 0.44.0! This means that you can now use AbortControllers to cancel requests in js-ipfs! No longer wait for your request to be completed. Please read the changelog article for complete details about the release.

03、Gossipsub v1.1

The Gossipsub working group has been working hard to study and analyze various attack vectors on public messaging networks and unlicensed messaging networks. Armed with this knowledge, we have now carefully designed some mitigation strategies to enable the beloved libp2p PubSub router to work in a hostile environment. The result is Gossipsub v1.1.

05. One sentence a week

My portfolio can now also run on IPFS! Thank you very much @FleekHQ.

06, the coolest thing

  • Zippie uses dynamic IPFS loading to achieve a seamless mobile web experience

07, 2020 Distributed Camp

From Friday to Sunday this week, members of the IPFS, Dat, I2P, and WebTorrent communities will gather to participate in a special hands-on event: Distributed Camp 2020 to discuss all the things distributed. Enjoy two days of immersive, hands-on seminars, where you can try some of the latest web technologies for yourself and Sunday's Unconference, where you can learn other projects and show off what you do! Registration is free.
