ZHENGZHOU,April26(Xinhua)--TheZhengzhouCommodityExchange(ZCE)incentralChina'sHenanProvincehasplannedtolaunchthetradingofChinesejujubefuturesfromApril30.
Itwillbetheworld'sfirstfuturestradingplatformfordriedjujube.ContractswillstarttradingonZCEatthebenchmarkpriceof8,600yuan(1,277.7U.S.dollars)pertonne.
AccordingtoZCE,thefirstbatchofcontractsareforDecemberdelivery,aswellforJanuary,MarchandMayof2020deliveries.Thetradingwillbeopenonlyfordomesticbuyers.
ZCEhassetafluctuationlimitof10percentofthebenchmarkpriceonthefirsttradingday.Ithasdesignated14enterprisestoprovidewarehousesforthecontractdeliveries.
JujubetreesareindigenoustoChinawith98percentoftheworld'sjujubeplantationsinChina.Theplantisasourceofincomeformorethan20millionChinesefarmers.
ThedemandforthenutritiousagriculturalproducthasbeenontheriseinChina.Over5.6milliontonnesofjujubesweresoldintheChinamarketin2017,upfrom3.9milliontonnesin2005,accordingtodatafromZCE.
