在英文中有两种字体很常见：衬线字体与无衬线体字体。
衬线字体 Serif(/'sɛrɪf/) fonts
Serif字体是带有Serifs的字体，它是添加到字母的开始和结尾弯钩。

无衬线体 Sans (/'sænz/) Serif fonts
Sans Serif字体是没有衬线的字体，即这些字体的没有弯钩的装饰。
Sans Serif fonts are fonts without Serifs sans means without in French and these fonts have plain ends with no ornamentation.
