It's my first time to write a film review, maybe have many mistakes about express but don’t matter it. it would be one of successful change for me to make me better. Ok, no any more bullshit, there would be more details about this movie under here.
This film theme/material is from true story of Homer Hickam who was the NASA chief engineer, he is a coal miner’s son who was inspired by the first Sputnik launch( the former Soviet Union) to take up rocketry against his father’s wishes. Unfortunately, he knows nothing about rocket, and there don’t have any books or journals referring making rockets in high school, what’s more, Making rockets needs many math knowledges and his father was very upset for him to do that. As time passes, he realized Quentin, his classmates, knows something about rockets. He made a team with Quentin and his best friends whose name are Roy Lee and Dell, they made the first rocket and tested in Homer’s garden, naturally, their works were failed and broke his garden fence, It’s so crazy for them. But they don’t give up and try their best to make rockets better again and again. However, A sweet dream is short-lived, they were under arrested because of they were misunderstood to made a fire in the timber mill when the rocket falls back to the ground. Few days later, Homer’s father were in hospital because the mine accidents after throwing his rockets material latter, suddenly, his home was trapped in the economic crisis. In order to getting rid of the economic difficulties, he decided to work in the mine and broke up his team. He known his teacher were got a cancer whom were gave him courage and confidence to do what he really want to do after he got off work from the mine. He known his decided for gave up his dream were made his teacher unhappy, so he decided to watch his teacher with a feeling of embarrassment. But his teacher was still advised him to do what he really want to do, he was sleepless in the night and decided to find the evidence to prove the fire were not caused by them. Finally, their team were union again and improved they were innocent. After countless failures they were success and got first in the national science competition through the rockets, in addition, his team got the full scholarship to paid for the university tuition. Finally, they were all graduated from the university successfully, but only Homer still work for the science, others also have their own colorful life.
