NLP is originated from Computational Linguistics, Computer Science and Cognitive Psychology [2]. Computational Linguistics concentrates on discovering structural language. Computer Science contributes to representing structures of language data, and Cognitive Psychology addresses these data in a psychologically plausible and human-like way.

NLP approaches can fall into three parts: symbolic, statistical and connectionist [2]. Symbolic approach explores linguistic phenomena from a symbolic perspective thus it demands well-understood symbolic knowledge. Statistical method mines linguistic information through mathematical tools, while connectionist approach learns representation in linguistic models which are less constrained than statistic ones.

NLP is widely implemented and deployed in various daily applications. Information Retrieval is a NLP application that generates alternative representation when online query enters [3]. Machine Translation is a NLP tool to automatically translate different language [4]. Besides, dialogue systems utilize lexical language to achieve better experience between human and machine interaction [2].
