ChatGPT starts to support plug-ins: networkable, executable code...

OpenAI announced that it has implemented initial support for plugins in ChatGPT. Plugins (Plugins) are tools specially designed for language models, with security as the core principle, which can help ChatGPT access the latest information, run calculations or use third-party services .

This means that third-party developers can develop plug-ins for ChatGPT to integrate their own services into the chat window of ChatGPT. Judging from the demonstration, the first batch of plug-ins that are open and available include hotel flight reservations, food delivery services, online shopping, legal knowledge, professional Q&A, text-to-speech, and Zapier for connecting different products.

OpenAI also officially provides two plug-ins: Browsing and Code interpreter . In addition, a full-process access guide for knowledge base-type plug-ins is open sourced for developers : ChatGPT Retrieval Plugin .

The Browsing plugin will use the latest information on the Internet to answer questions, and give its search steps and links to content sources, using the Bing search API.

Code Interpreter is an experimental ChatGPT model that creates a sandbox that can run a Python interpreter, has ephemeral storage space under firewall control, can use Python to handle file uploads and downloads, and the entire virtual space is valid during the session.
