1.1 Open the System Settings -> User Accounts -> the "language" to "English" -> OK to exit back to the desktop -> upper right corner "Logout" Users -> again came -> Desktop pop-up window, select "Update Names" - > completed. At this point though folders are changed to English, but the left side of the Explorer displays still Chinese, and will complain when clicked, as shown. Hence the need for further settings.
1.2 at this time need to re-enter the system settings -> Language Support -> applied to the entire system -> Exit OK to return to the desktop -> upper right corner "Logout" Users -> again came -> Done.
