Vault is a secret tool to access private information that can help you manage some private information, such as API key, password, authentication, and so on. Version 1.2 has been released, we are committed to supporting automatic certificate and encryption key management on a global scale highly distributed new architecture. This release introduces user and application management of sensitive data (such as encryption keys and database accounts) of new mechanisms and new public interfaces that improve the automation of confidential Vault management, encryption and ability to serve the privileged access management.
The main updates are as follows:
- KMIP server secret engine (only Vault Enterprise): KMIP allows Vault acts as a server for confidential management and encryption as a service enterprise workflow system to automate
- Integrated Storage: Vault management of persistent data storage security, there is no external storage backend, support high availability and replication
- Identification token: OIDC JWT compatible identification token generation associated with Vault for use in a third-party system
- Static database credentials Rotation: use the database credentials secret DB engine automatically rotates pre-existing
- Vault API Explorer: Vault UI now includes an embedded API Explorer, where you can browse your available endpoints and sends a request. To use it, open WebCLI and type API
- ElasticSearch database plugin: database plug-ins released new ElasticSearch unique, short ElasticSearch credentials
- Pivotting Cloud Foundry plugin: Using Pivotting Cloud Foundry new certificate authentication method Vault will be
- Vault Agent Namespace Support: Adding an optional namespace parameter, which set the auto-auth function default namespace
- The new UI features: Added for LDAP user and group editing of HTTP Request Volume page and the new UI
