Chinese input method settings in Ubuntu

Chinese input method settings in Ubuntu

problem

I use ubuntu virtual machine, has been used in English, it has not entered the Chinese can not, when the same thing. But recently doing a Chinese project, only to be installed at Chinese input method.

(For people who are used to the windows, this process is quite complicated, OK, I admit to being spoiled windows)

Solution

  1. Configuring the Keyboard input is 'scim'

System -> Administratio -> Language & Text. 选择'scim'.

2. Install google pinyin this does not know how to install the original. (Think of it later, make up)

After doing things like this, Control + SPACE in the most app can input Chinese characters. But I still found in emacs, google a bit to find the answer:

a. Download scim-bridge.el, look for the line in the center of the software, install scim-bridge-el. (Or the command line: sudo apt-get install scim-bridge-el). B increase in blue font statements ".emacs" in :( ". Emacs" in your user directory, if not create one) ;; the following two statements for calling attention ;; Chinese input scim scim-bridge-el desired, the operator: apt-get install scim-bridge-el ;; Called C-SPC (require 'scim-bridge) (add-hook' after-init-hook 'scim-mode-on)
