In this tutorial, the editor recommends the equipment needed for 720VR panoramic shooting . We mentioned in the previous section that theoretically any camera and lens can capture panoramas, but in order to standardize the production process, the equipment recommended for you follows two principles: high efficiency and high quality .
720VR panoramic photography is mainly aimed at two purposes , aerial photography and ground photography .
Equipment is mainly divided into six categories:
1) SLR/Mirror Single Camera
2) Fisheye lens
3) Panoramic camera
4) Panoramic PTZ
5) Tripod
6) Drone
1. Camera
The camera mentioned here refers to a SLR/Mirrorless digital camera with interchangeable lenses. The differences, advantages and disadvantages between the two will be explained in detail in the next chapter "Understanding Cameras and Lenses" .
What are the criteria for purchasing and selecting cameras?
Brand, budget, supporting lenses
Different brands of cameras have different operating systems. You should choose based on your own photography foundation, usage habits, and acceptance ability;
The budget determines the performance and quality of the camera: entry-level or high-end, half-frame or full-frame;
Different brands or mirrorless cameras and DSLRs of the same brand also have different lens mounts. Although there are adapter rings, they will affect the image quality.
Camera recommendations
Combining the above three criteria, Canon's operating system is relatively friendly and easy to learn. It has a complete product line of half-frame entry-level cameras and full-frame high-end cameras, including Canon's original EF mount fisheye lenses.
Therefore, we recommend the full-frame Canon EOS 5D Mark IV & the half-frame Canon EOS 850D .

2. Lens
The lens we use to shoot panoramic shots is generally a fisheye lens. The fisheye lens has a wide viewing angle and can accommodate many images, which will greatly speed up panoramic shooting.
What are the criteria for purchasing and selecting lenses?

Note that lenses are also divided into full-frame and half-frame. In principle, full-frame camera lenses match each other, and half-frame camera lenses match each other;
Different lens mounts will cause the lens to be unable to be installed on the camera. For example, Sony FE mount lenses cannot be placed on Canon RF mount cameras.
Lens recommendation
Combining the above two standards and testing the image quality through our actual use, we recommend the following.
The full-frame Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is equipped with the original Canon Canon EF mount 8-15mm full-frame fisheye lens ;
The half-frame Canon EOS 850D is equipped with the SAMYANG EF mount 8mm half-frame fisheye lens from the subsidiary factory .

3. Panoramic camera
There are three mainstream panoramic camera brands on the market: Insta 360, TECHE, and Pi Pilot , all of which have achieved 8K panoramic pictures, 8K panoramic videos, and 8K/4K panoramic live broadcasts . We will list them one by one to facilitate your purchase.
1. Kageishi Insta 360
Recommended: Insta 360 Pro 2
Insta 360 Pro 2 is undoubtedly the top panoramic camera with more professional operation and clearer picture quality for professional photographers. Its advantages are:

Therefore, the editor recommends drones under the DJI brand.
DJI has many product lines, divided into consumer grade, professional grade, and industry grade. Based on the following three standards, we recommend:
DJI Mavic 2 Professional Edition and DJI AIR 2S .

2) Replaceable soft propellers, foldable wings and arms, easy to store, lightweight and portable;
