What's new in Windows 11 version 23H2

Windows 11, versions 22H2 and 23H2 share a common core operating system and the same set of system files. Therefore, the release notes for Windows 11 versions 22H2 and 23H2 will share the update history page. Each release page will contain a list of resolved issues for 22H2 and 23H2. Please note that 23H2 will always include improvements from supported versions of 22H2. However, the supported version of 22H2 does not contain improvements over 23H2. The update history page will provide build numbers for 22H2 and 23H2. This way, support can more easily help you when you run into issues.

This new update will roll out all newly announced features, including Copilot for Windows (in preview), as well as other changes.

Notes As part of our latest updates to Windows 11, Copilot in Windows will begin rolling out in preview to select global markets. Initial markets for Copilot for Windows Preview include North America and parts of Asia and South America. We intend to add more markets over time.

Chat is now in Microsoft Teams (free) and is pinned to the taskbar by default. When you click or tap to open Microsoft Teams, you can chat, call, and meet with people in a mini communications experience with just a click or two. Its compact size makes it easy to place the window anywhere on the desktop. This allows you to passively examine conversations while browsing the web or connecting with the community.

You can send and receive text messages in Microsoft Teams. Additionally, you can link your Android Phone using Link to Windows. This allows you to use your regular phone number to access text messages and share meeting links.
The new people experience makes it easy to find people relevant to you on Teams. Because Teams syncs with Outlook and Skype contacts, you can connect to them at any time.

In addition to these new Microsoft Teams (free) features, there are also some changes to how the application is managed. On the Start menu, under All Apps, Windows 11 system components will display a System tab. Currently, the page for managing these components is located in Settings > Apps > Installed Applications" in "System Components" listed. This is now located on the "System > System **** Settings > " page.
