1. Life table analysis

Life table analysis, also known as life table, is a statistical method that analyzes overall survival rates at different times by producing life tables and corresponding survival function plots. Its main goal is to calculate and display the course of human life (or death) under age group mortality conditions for a specific group of people.

Life table analysis is suitable for large sample data processing without too many restrictions on the distribution of survival times. It can estimate the survival rate of a certain survival time, compare the survival rates of different treatment groups, and examine individual influencing factors. This analytical method has wide applications in fields such as medicine, biology, and engineering.

The basic steps in conducting life table analysis include: collecting data, calculating survival functions, plotting life tables, calculating statistical indicators, and making comparisons. These steps can help us understand the survival time of individuals and the lifespan characteristics of groups.

2.SPSS implementation

(1) Open the "data15-01" data file, select "Analysis" - "Survival Analysis" - "Life Table", and the dialog box shown in the figure below will pop up.

(2) Select "Months on the Internet" on the left and move it to the time list box on the right, set the time interval from 0 to 72 and press 12;

Select the "Was it lost" variable on the left to the status list box on the right, click Define Event to pop up the Define Event dialog box as shown below, and set it as shown below;

Select the "Customer Type" variable on the left to the factor list box on the right, click Define Range to pop up the Define Factor Range dialog box as shown below, and make settings as shown below.

After setting up, the life table dialog box will appear as shown below:

(3) Click the "Options" button to pop up the "Life Table: Options" dialog box. Check the corresponding options as shown below, and then click Continue to return to the main dialog box.

(4) After completing all settings, click the "OK" button to execute the command.
