To install Unreal Engine (UE for short), you need to follow an EPIC Games Launcher first.
This is actually EPIC's game center. You can think of it as similar to Steam. It is a place where you can buy games and manage games. One of the reasons I like EPIC so much is that it gives away different free games every week.
After downloading, you need to log in with your EPIC account. If not, remember to register one. This account will be required for later development and resource downloading using UE.
After installing EPIC Games Launcher and logging in, you can see the Unreal Engine option on the left. After clicking on it, all the content on the right becomes related to Unreal Engine.
Select the "Library" tab here to see the currently installed UE engine version. You can also click the plus sign to the right of the engine version to choose to download other versions of the UE engine, or update the already installed version. Engine version.
When you choose to download or update a certain version of Unreal Engine, you can click the download button in the lower right corner to switch to the download progress viewing interface:
After the download and installation is completed, you can see an Unreal Engine shortcut on the desktop:
In addition to opening the Unreal Engine in the desktop shortcut, we can also start the engine in the EPIC Games Loader in the square:
If you want to uninstall the installed engine version, you can click the small cross in the upper left corner of the version
Finally, EPIC Games Loader is a very good thing. You can view various related news, download samples, or purchase some resources that the engine can use. There are many resources at discounts, but some are free for a limited time or permanently free. You can take a look when you have time:
