Nankai University (B+) postgraduate entrance examination difficulty (☆☆☆☆☆☆)
Nankai University's computer science research began in 1958 and was developed on the basis of its strong mathematics and physics disciplines. It is one of the earliest institutions in my country to engage in computer research and teaching. In 1984, in order to develop engineering disciplines, Nankai University integrated the computer software major and automatic control major established in 1977 by the original Department of Mathematics and the computer application major established in 1980 by the Department of Physics to establish the Department of Computer and Systems Science. In 1995, Nankai University adopted the organizational structure of the college and integrated the Department of Computer and System Science and the Department of Electronic Science to establish the School of Information Technology Science. It began to operate in a physical manner in 1999. In 2013, in order to build a modern engineering discipline system in Nankai, according to the school's discipline development plan, the disciplines of the School of Information Technology were optimized and integrated, and the School of Computer and Control Engineering and the School of Electronic Information and Optical Engineering were respectively established. In July 2018, in order to serve the country's major strategic needs, accelerate the construction of "double first-class", and cultivate future talents who can adapt to and lead the development of the times, Nankai University split the School of Computer and Control Engineering and established the School of Computer Science.
The School of Software of Nankai University was established in 2001 and is one of the first batch of model software schools in the country. In 2011, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council added software engineering as a first-level discipline (discipline catalog code: 0835), and Nankai University was among the first to be awarded a first-level PhD degree in software engineering. In 2013, the software engineering discipline of Nankai University was selected as a key discipline in Tianjin. In 2017, Nankai University and Binhai New Area signed a cooperation agreement to jointly build a software college. In 2021, the college was approved to become a characteristic demonstration software college construction unit in Tianjin, and the software engineering major was approved as a national first-class undergraduate major construction site.
In the fourth round of subject evaluation, Nankai University received B+ for computer science and technology and B for software engineering.
