Heavy TOP200! The latest ESI rankings announced

Recently, Clarivate Analytics released the latest ESI data for September 2023. ESI (Essential Science Indicators Database) is one of the important evaluation index tools currently used worldwide to evaluate the international academic level and influence of universities, academic institutions, countries or regions. The data coverage time range is from January 1, 2013 to June 30, 2023.

Judging from statistical data, the ESI comprehensive ranking of the TOP200 universities in this period (September 2023) has improved to a certain extent compared with the previous period (July 2023).

In international rankings, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences still ranks first among universities in mainland China and 26th globally ; Tsinghua University ranks second among domestic universities and 41st internationally. Ranking third among domestic universities is Shanghai Jiao Tong University , currently ranked 51st in the world, followed by Zhejiang University (52nd in the international rankings) and Peking University (55th in the international rankings).

Among the top 200 universities in the international rankings are Sun Yat-sen University at 97th, Fudan University at 98th, Huazhong University of Science and Technology at 102nd, University of Science and Technology of China at 112nd, Nanjing University at 124th, and Central South University. Ranked 128th, Sichuan University ranked 142nd, Wuhan University ranked 146th, Xi'an Jiaotong University ranked 160th, Shandong University ranked 172nd, Harbin Institute of Technology ranked 177th, and Jilin University ranked 194th .

Among the top 200 ESI universities in mainland China, some universities have made significant progress. Among them, Beijing Technology and Business University has made the greatest progress , rising 54 places in the international rankings. Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology has also made rapid progress, rising 50 places in the international rankings.
