Solve the problem of freezing when using mobile hard disk (solid state & non-solid state) in win11

In the past, there was no lag problem when using a mobile hard drive in Win10. Later, after updating to Win11, the hard drive would inexplicably freeze for about 1-3 seconds when processing files and creating and editing files. I thought the disk was damaged, so I went through various tests and repairs. Found no problem

Later, I also contacted the merchant of the mobile hard disk, but to no avail when I planned to replace it with a new one. Discovered a new feature of win11.

That’s fast deletion of hard drives and better performance strategies

After understanding these two strategies, you will know how to optimize the stuck problem. After optimizing on this basis, another optimization needs to be done

Two optimizations that must be done : hard disk policy modification and power policy hard disk shutdown processing

1. Hard disk policy modification

1. Right-click the mobile hard disk to enter properties and click Hardware

2. Select the mobile hard disk

For example, mine is SanDisk Extreme 55AE SCSI Disk Device

After selecting, click Properties, then click Change Settings

 3. Modify strategy

Modify the policy to better performance as shown in the picture  , and check Enable write cache on the device, click OK

2. Power policy hard disk shutdown processing

1. Find the control panel by searching

2. Enter the control panel and then enter the power options.

3. Change plan settings to enter more advanced power settings

Just modify it as shown in the picture
