Related fees ranging from 1 to 10 yuan were deducted every month, and the mobile phones were suspected of being controlled remotely.
According to police investigation, the suspects colluded with senior mobile phone solution providers and manufacturers to implant Trojan horse programs in the production process of senior mobile phones . Without the knowledge of mobile phone users, the suspects ordered SP value-added services in the background and shared the profits with the SP vendors. Profit (SP stands for Service Provider, service provider).
The network security police discovered that these mobile phone network data were all linked to a server with the same domain name. After remote inspection, they determined that the server was a Trojan horse server used by criminals to commit crimes. Through data tracking, it was discovered that more than 14 million mobile phones across the country were controlled by this Trojan server .
The police said that criminal gangs cooperated with a number of mobile phone motherboard manufacturers to implant Trojan programs into mobile phone motherboards. Once the mobile phones equipped with these motherboards are sold, the criminal gang controls the mobile phone to return data through Trojan horse programs, obtains the user's mobile phone number, text messages and other information, sends a message confirming the activation of the value-added subscription service to the user, and then controls the mobile phone terminal to automatically Reply "Y" to activate, and the text messages will be automatically deleted after the operation is completed.
In February 2023, the public security organs launched a centralized investigation into the case, and police officers rushed to Guangdong, Beijing, Hainan, Hunan and other places to arrest a total of 29 suspects and freeze more than 60 million yuan of funds involved in the case.
