Mathematical modeling paper formatting guide, including examples

1. Title

Common format: Research on xxx problem based on xxx model

Be concise and easy to search. Only mention the core model and don’t use too many modifiers.

For example:

 2. Abstract

The abstract is the most important thing! !

The abstract is a summary of the paper and needs to include the problems solved in this paper, the model established and the solution results .

Do not add figures or tables to the abstract

Control it to be 3/4 pages to one page, and the number of words is about 800~1100

1. Opening paragraph

Template: This article mainly studies the xxx problem. Based on xxx , the xxx model/method is used to solve xxx.

Note: Do not write detailed solution results in the beginning paragraph, try not to show data, and put the data in the middle paragraph.

2. Middle section

For problem xx, consider/according to xxx factors, establish xxx model,...solve xxx

Note: Be sure to write down the results clearly, including the values, conclusions and data basis , but do not have tables. If there is too much data, please refer to the appendix for the data.

3. Summary

If the summary exceeds one page after writing, you don’t need to write it. Don't bother to repeat what you have written before, write some features and boastful sentences of this article.

4.Keywords

Generally 4 to 6, including the models and algorithms used, professional terms that everyone knows, and keywords of the problem, separated by spaces .

3. References

Cited documents or reference materials must be marked according to regulations, and footscripts (numbers in square brackets [1], superscript) must be marked in the text, and appendices must be listed at the end of the text.

Academic papers should try not to quote content from online blogs.

 4. Formula editing

1.Word’s own formula editing

Suitable for novices, the operation is relatively simple, but format confusion may occur after converting to PDF.

2. Mathpix

An artifact, you can get the formula by taking a screenshot, and you can export formulas in multiple formats.

download link:

Mathpix Downloads: MacOS, Windows & Linux.

Just have to pay.

3. Latex

The syntax is complicated and not suitable for beginners

But the function is very powerful, suitable for uu who have time to study

4. MathType

Lots of bugs, not recommended

5. Picture production

1. Basic requirements

Show ideas and visualize results

The title of the figure should be placed below and numbered

Pay attention to typesetting, center alignment, no first line indentation

2. Drawing tools

The simplest: PPT, EXCEL, AxGlyph , Origin, visio

Programming: Python, MATLAB, SPSS

Professional categories: COSMOL, CAD, MapInfo

Non-academic: Processon
