Overseas Tool Station 2022 Review: Business Perception

About business perception

In 2022, the project experience of the past few years was reviewed: many projects died before the business started, and there was not a single hand that could close the loop of commercialization & last for a period of time.

From the several months of review in 2022, I have gained a lot of business-related experience:

Experience: Be sure to choose a project that suits your direction

In the past, I had very little thinking about strategy and direction, and it was easy to fall into the top of the ignorant mountain of the Duck effect (Dunning-Kruger effect).

file

What is strategy? It is choice. Choice, the most important thing is what not to do, not what to do.

Decisions about what to do and what not to do need to be based on your direction.

There will be a question here, what is the direction? How to be sure? The definition of personal direction is very simple: good direction = the intersection of what you want to do & what you can do & what you can do

  • Want to do: love (not hate)
  • Can do: where professional ability lies
  • Can do: take time to complete

My ten-year direction is: go overseas to pay for software

It's about wanting to do, it's about love. But maybe the vast majority of ordinary people will never find a long-term love thing in their entire life. It is already a luxury to be able to love the direction. So, just don’t hate it first, and find that long-term favorite thing while doing what you don’t hate.

what about me? I'm a tech guy who knows a bit about product, growth hacking, and Google SEO traffic. If I were asked to be an anchor and live broadcast to sell goods, I admit that the first thing is that I can’t do it, and the second thing is that I hate it very much.

As for what you can do, you must choose the project in the direction of your professional ability. Otherwise, it is easy to become a "giant baby", and it is easy to reach the top of the ignorant mountain of the Duck effect above.

For example, you are good at paying for knowledge. If Web3 makes money, you can sell Web3 tutorials to make money; if you make money with short videos on video accounts, you can sell them in training camps that make money with short videos.

For example, you are good at traffic. Then Web3 makes money, you can get this traffic as an agent and affiliate. The same applies to the delivery of video numbers.

what about me? I'm good at making software, so I can sell shovels to gold diggers.

As for what can be done, it depends on the time cost, and the investment of time and energy depends on the investment ROI.

Regarding the definition of a good direction, the weight is still: able to do (hard skills) > want to do (mentality) > able to do (physical strength).

In addition, don’t forget to cultivate this direction for a long time, be a long-termist, and enjoy compound interest~

Experience: Content is King!

If the code is also a form of content, I very much agree with this sentence: Content is King!

There is also a sentence in "Navar's Book" that is still fresh in my memory: If you want to gain wealth, you must make full use of the leverage effect. Commercial leverage comes from capital, labor, and products (code and media) with zero marginal cost of duplication .

file

For example, in the wealth-generating skill community, its leverage is content. Entrepreneurship content, or sideline content, or popularly speaking, money-making content. There are many forms of its content: essence, wind vane, sailing training camp, group chat among Dragon Ball circle friends and so on.

With mechanisms such as Dragon Ball, let more circle friends share sincerely. The marginal cost of its elite content production has been greatly reduced, and the ROI is very high. That is zero marginal cost and infinite replication.

what about me? It is necessary to start with the code and make one or several commercial software. The marginal cost of its software development or maintenance will be smaller and smaller, and its ROI will be higher and higher.

About the content is king, the understanding is more profound. For a novice like me, who has no leverage such as capital, then choose content and code leverage.

Leverage brings compound interest, and it is also long-termism. People who intend to start a masterpiece and write a masterpiece often cannot persist in completing the first chapter .
