Broadband Capital Appears at 2023MWC Shanghai

"I hope that in 30 years, when I am 90 years old, I will have the opportunity to see a new world where everyone has their own network and every enterprise has its own network, such a new world of Opennet!"

In his public speech at the 2023 MWC Shanghai 5G IN exhibition area, Dr. Tian Suning expressed his vision for an open network.

He boldly predicted that the next 30 years will be an era of change in the network field from closed to open .

Looking back on the past 30 years, the computer field has achieved a transformation from closed to open. Open computing has created countless great companies and huge commercial value.

He believes that the future network must move from connection to perception, be born for data, support the development of artificial intelligence, and run through the entire society like a nervous system.

Therefore, he appealed that every enterprise and everyone should have their own network to realize the inclusiveness of the network .

In his speech, Dr. Tian Suning also shared his thoughts on the future network ecosystem and organizational form.

He believes that a new ecosystem is needed in the future, including various elements such as chips, switches, software, and APIs of the open network, and these elements require new partners and new organizational methods to collaborate and innovate.

The so-called federalism of the Internet industry refers to the formation of a new organizational form between enterprises that share a common vision, have equity relationships, share knowledge, and have a foundation of trust. He hopes to unite more like-minded companies to promote this transformation of the open network.

GSMA Network Director Henry Justin Calvert also gave a speech at the 2023 MWC Shanghai 5G IN exhibition area.

He introduced the rapid popularization of 5G and the digital transformation that operators need to carry out.

He believes that operators need to think from the perspective of different industries and enterprises, how to use 5G to improve their productivity and innovation capabilities. Operators need to implement layering and decoupling, and collaborate to build infrastructure to release more value.

In addition, he specifically proposed the GSMA's initiative, namely Open Gateway , which aims to open the operator's network capabilities to external developers and partners through APIs and code block documents to create more value and services.

Senior Vice President and CTO of AsiaInfo, IEEE Fellow, Dr. Ouyang Ye, was invited to attend the forum and delivered a speech.

Dr. Ouyang introduced AsiaInfo's endogenous computing power network products and solutions - without changing the basic functions and architecture of the network, by enhancing the functions of 5G BBU and 5G MEC, it can realize "integration of communication and computing" and help communication operators " Investment should be subtracted, resources should be multiplied, and capabilities should be added.”

At the end of the forum, five industry experts conducted a roundtable discussion on the development of OpenNet from the aspects of private network hardware, software, and network security.

This discussion also provided participants with an opportunity to understand and explore OpenNet, showing the world the strength and achievements of Chinese companies in network openness and innovation.
