There are about a thousand items in the material master data, but it still cannot satisfy the description of the own characteristics of various materials. For this reason, SAP has enabled classes ( Class ) and characteristics ( Characteristic ), and these are listed in the classification view ( Characteristic ) of the material master data Specific information is maintained.

The class serving material master data can only be selected from the following four types: material classification (category 001 ), batch (category 023 ), material (configurable object) (category 200 ), variant (category 300 ).

two. feature maintenance

There are 3 characteristics maintained in the example , namely Z_FZMT_MOBNET4G , Z_FZMT_MOBNET3G , Z_FZMT_MOBNET2G , and the characteristic description data is stored in the physical table: CABNT , representing the standard characteristics of 4G , 3G and 2G respectively. Take Z_FZMT_MOBNET4G as an example. In addition to maintaining basic data, several feature values ​​need to be set. This example is custom. Each feature value needs to maintain its key value and description. The description supports multiple languages. The data is shown in the table below.

Enter the foreground transaction code CT04 or the background path, maintain the feature Z_FZMT_MOBNET4G (mobile phone standard 4G ), on the "Basic Data" tab page, set the format to a character format with 3 characters, and select the value assignment as "Multi-value" entry, the maintenance interface is as follows Figure 1 shows.

three. class maintenance

The type of the example class is 001 material classification, which is used to describe material specific information.

Use the transaction code CL02 in the front desk or the background path to enter, the maintenance category is Z_FZMT_MOBILE , the type is "001 material classification " , and the description is " Maple mobile phone specification parameters " . Multiple features are maintained in the " Features " tab: Z_FZMT_MOBNET4G , Z_FZMT_MOBNET3G , Z_FZMT_MOBNET2G . See Figure 3 , Figure 4 , and Figure 5 for the maintenance interface .

Material Master Data_Category View

one. view description

The material master data maintained by SAP has nearly a thousand entries, involving all aspects of business processes, but has its own characteristic values ​​for different types of materials, such as the size and color of clothes, shoes and hats, and various configuration parameters of laptops. The information cannot be stored directly in the set entry of the master data. To this end, SAP sets up a proprietary classification view ( Classification View ) in the material master data to store the material's own characteristic values.

First, use T-CODE: CT04 in SAP to maintain the material's own characteristics ( Characteristic ), and use T-CODE : CL02 to classify these characteristics into a class ( Class ). See " Maintaining the Class of Material Master Data (Class)" above and Characteristics (Characteristic) . When maintaining the material classification view, add this class and maintain the characteristic values ​​of the characteristics under it. For a material, multiple classes and their associated property values ​​can be maintained.

The data of the classification view belongs to the non-organizational organization, which will not change due to changes in different organizational structures (such as factories and storage locations). For a material, it needs to be maintained with T-CODE: MM01 for the first time , and then it can only be modified or deleted with MM02 . For the overall structure of material master data, please refer to " Material Master Data_Summary ".

A material classification view can load multiple classes, and the types of classes used can only be the following four: material classification (category 001 ), batch (category 023 ), material (configurable object) (category 200 ), variant (category 300 ).

The maintenance of the classification view is relatively complicated. In addition to directly using the MM01 and MM02 of the maintenance materials , the following methods can also be used for maintenance:

The maintained class ( Class ) data is stored in the table KSSK , and the characteristic value is stored in the table AUSP . These two tables serve all classes and characteristic values ​​in the system, not just the material classification view.

Run T-CODE in the foreground : MM01 , enter the material number, and in the dialog box for selecting a view, select the item " Category " (as shown in Figure 1 ). This view is at the level of no organizational structure. If it is maintained separately, the organizational structure will not pop up dialog box.

In the initial maintenance classification view of the material, the list selection category in Figure 2 will pop up . Here, select the material classification (class 001 ) item, double-click to confirm to continue.

The interface is shown in Figure 3. Multiple classes can be entered in the allocation column. Click the Other Class Type button ( ) on the right side of " Class Type " to pop up the list box in Figure 2 , and you can switch between different class types.

Enter the class Z_FZMT_MOBILE in the assignment column , and press the Enter key after typing.

A list of characteristics included in the class appears in the lower part of the interface, as shown in Figure 4 , where you can input the characteristic values ​​of materials according to characteristics.

For the " mobile phone standard 4G" feature, press the button on the right side of the input field or press the F4 key, and the dialog box in Figure 5 will pop up , where you can select input.

After exiting the dialog box and pressing the Enter key, the value will be displayed in multiple lines due to the multi-value selection. After all the maintenance is completed, the property column is shown in Figure 6 . After the material property maintenance is completed, you can press the save key to exit or continue to maintain other views.

To read the property values ​​that have been maintained in the material master data :

1. In the table "characteristic value ( AUSP )", take the material number as the object, find the corresponding internal characteristic number ( AUSP-ATINN ) and characteristic value (  AUSP-ATWRT ) two fields; 

2. Find the description of the feature ( CABNT -ATBEZ) according to the internal feature number ( AUSP-ATINN ) found in the previous step in the table " Characteristic Description ( CABNT )"; 

3. Find the corresponding feature value description (CAWNT-ATWTB) according to the internal feature number ( AUSP-ATINN ) and feature value (  AUSP-ATZHL ) found in the first step in the table CAWNT .
