Chapter 3 Vision-Driven Digital Transformation Planning
A good plan should be aligned with the business strategy. It can not only describe the vision and blueprint of the enterprise's digitalization, so that the company can form a consensus on the direction, but also define specific measures, road signs and projects, clarify the main body of responsibility and guide the implementation.
"Anything that is forewarned can be established, and if it is not forewarned, it will be abandoned." This chapter will combine the three-stage practice of Huawei's digital transformation plan (as shown in the figure below) to introduce the concept and method of planning.
3.1 Start with the end in mind and describe the digital vision
Digital transformation should be driven by vision, and being stuck in the status quo will prevent us from breaking the locks of the past. Only by aligning with the long-term business strategy of the enterprise, and thinking about the changes that digitalization will bring to the industry and enterprises in the next 5 to 10 years from the perspective of "looking at tomorrow from the day after tomorrow", can we formulate forward-looking plans.

Corporate strategy describes a clear corporate vision, mission and strategic goals, among which business strategy answers the question of "what kind of company do you want to be in the future".
A clear business strategy can achieve alignment with the market and customers externally; internally, it can reach a consensus from top to bottom between business strategy and corporate R&D, marketing and sales, supply chain, finance, human resources and other business fields, so as to achieve "strength".
