The 2023 Global Edge Computing Conference Shenzhen Station was successfully held!

On July 15, 2023, the 7th Global Edge Computing Conference was held in Shenzhen. This conference is hosted by the edge computing community, and has received strong support from EMQ, Wangsu Technology, Scitech and other units. The conference aims to discuss the cutting-edge technology and application trends of edge computing, and promote the ecological exchange of edge computing technology in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Before the keynote speech, we are very honored to have invited the world's leading scholars in the field of mobile communications, academicians of the three Canadian academies (Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences, Canadian Academy of Engineering, Canadian Academy of Engineering), Distinguished Professor of the School of Computer and Software, Shenzhen University, Internet of Things Research Academician Liang Zhongming, Director of the Center, Emeritus Professor of UBC Canada and Director of the Wireless Network and Mobile System Laboratory, delivered a speech.

We also invited another heavyweight guest, academician Yu Fei from Shenzhen Guangming Laboratory, academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and IEEE Fellow. Academician Yu Fei shared the wonderful report "From Information to Intelligence: Thoughts from ChatGPT".

With the rapid development of information technology and artificial intelligence, we are experiencing a period of transition from information to intelligence. Large-scale language models such as ChatGPT have shown great potential in many fields. Some people predict the arrival of general artificial intelligence. The transformation from information to intelligence has become the core driving force for technological progress and social development. Academician Yu led everyone to discuss the transformation process from information to intelligence, taking ChatGPT and other large language models as examples to analyze the technical principles and development process behind them. Finally, Academician Yu looked forward to the future trends and challenges of the transition from information to intelligence.

Here, we also recommend Academician Yu's book "A Brief History of Intelligence", which is a good popular science book for broadening horizons.

In addition to the wonderful sharing by the two academicians, there were also more than 20 important guests' sharing, covering many aspects of edge computing. Including representatives from industry, academia and investment circles, they shared the latest research results, application cases and investment trends of edge computing.

In the keynote sharing session, we were honored to invite Professor Wang Xiaofei from Tianjin University, Yu Jielin, Director of EMQ Edge Computing R&D, Zhang Zhenli, Director of Sangfor Internet of Things Security Business, Yuan Ji, Director of Wanwuyun AI Lab, and Chen Zhengsheng, CTO of Yuxian Microelectronics He and other guests shared in an all-round way the exploration of edge computing in the domestic industry, academia, chip industry, and open source industry.

Among them, Professor Xiaofei mentioned that Tianjin University and PPIO have in-depth industry-university cooperation and open-sourced edge computing public datasets. Researchers can conduct simulations and obtain cloud platform parameters. If you can measure and dig deeper, you can find more surprises.

In the afternoon session, we planned four topics: edge + pan-entertainment, edge + core, edge + industry, edge + open source.

Edge + pan-entertainment is the biggest dark horse of this conference. This topic invited three experts, Mr. Chen Yunhui, Senior Architect of Wangsu Technology Edge Platform, Mr. Kang, Assistant President of Haima Cloud, and Wang Haoyu, Head of Shengwang Cloud Native Edge Computing Team, to share. From discussing AIGC to cloud games to real-time interactive scenes, the discussion was extremely intense. We are honored to invite Huang Chaobo, the best-selling author of "Software and Hardware Fusion", CEO of Juxiang Technology, to share the theme report of "Universal Super Heterogeneous Computing, Helping Edge Computing Take Off". Share the thinking and practice of Sun Yat-sen University’s edge computing team in the field of edge intelligence; Mr. Hu Diangang, the person in charge of SF’s Internet of Things platform, introduced SF’s practice in the field of industrial Internet. Edge computing is an important starting point to promote the integration of OT and IT in the industrial Internet.

On the topic of edge + industry, Zhang Bo, the solution director of Siteshun, introduced the Twins-IoT Liangyi IoT cloud and the practice cases of Siteshun in smart cities; Zhang Sen, the intelligent business director of CR Digital, introduced The application of edge computing platform in industrial digital transformation; Mr. He Xuemiao, CEO of Semitec Technology, shared the application and promotion of edge computing in digital agriculture.

On the topic of edge + open source, we invited Mr. Zhang Zhaosheng, CTO of Chinasoft International Intelligent Internet of Things Corps, to communicate with you across borders. From the perspective of the Internet of Things, edge computing, the practice and application of Hongmeng in edge computing; Zhang Jing, senior AI architect of Intel Asia Pacific, shared with you Artificial intelligence projects, EdgeXFoundry&Open VINO accelerated the implementation of artificial intelligence projects; Red Hat software senior consultant Mr. Ye Kaifeng shared with you how to run and manage cloud-native loads on edge devices.
