The Linux Mint 21.2 ISO image code-named "Victoria" is officially open for download today. The new version is based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and provides three desktop versions of Cinnamon 5.8, Xfce 4.18 and MATE 1.26.

Linux Mint 21.2 is based on the long-term supported Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and on the kernel side the long-term supported Linux Kernel 5.15.
The Xfce and MATE desktop environments still retain the Xfce 4.18 and MATE 1.26 desktop environments, but the Cinnamon version is upgraded to version 5.8.
This version update optimizes touchpad and touchscreen gestures, introduces a global dark mode for GTK4 / libadwaita applications, improves compatibility with Flatpak applications, supports various new theme colors, and speeds up the Nemo file manager etc.
The Linux Mint 21.2 release also greatly improves the login manager with better keyboard navigation, support for Wayland sessions, support for LXQt/Pademelon badges, configurable layouts for the on-board on-screen keyboard, scrollable session lists, and more.
