Arc's official website slogan directly quotes the media evaluation: Arc is the Chrome replacement I've been waiting for.

Arc is a free web browser developed by The Browser Company, a startup founded by Josh Miller and Hursh Agrawal, released on April 19, 2022 after a closed beta.

Arc is based on Chromium and written in Swift language . It supports Chrome browser extensions and uses Google Search by default.

Arc aims to be an "operating system for the World Wide Web" and attempts to integrate web browsing with built-in applications and functions. Its built-in features include a virtual notepad, a collage-style "easel," and "boosts," which allow users to beautify and redesign a website interface. Arc's tabs are arranged vertically in a sidebar that contains all browser functionality except the browser window.
