The 2022 Chinese Academy of Sciences partition table will be announced soon, and this year will usher in major changes

In a while, the division table of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which has attracted much attention from researchers, will be announced.

According to the zoning table editor of the Documentation and Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the editor revealed in a message today that this year’s zoning table is expected to be launched at the end of November or early December.

Many researchers have already begun to look forward to it. Compared with previous years, this year's partition table will have major changes.

Only the upgraded journal partition table

Since 2004, the National Science Library of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has formulated the basic version of the JCR partition, generally referred to as "Chinese Academy of Sciences partition", and the partition method is based on the impact factor of journals included in SCI. In 2019, we began to try to launch a partition upgrade version, and set a three-year expiration period. More scientific research information is available on the [Eurasia Academic] official account, so stay tuned!

Starting from 2022, the partition table will only publish the results of the upgraded version, and there will be no distinction between the basic version and the upgraded version.

What is the difference between the basic version and the upgraded version?

  • The basic version is divided into journal sections by subject body , with a total of 13 categories, including only natural science articles

  • The upgraded version is based on the theme system to distinguish journal sections, with a total of 18 categories. In addition to natural sciences, it also includes articles in social sciences.

What are the advantages of the upgraded version compared to the basic version?

● In terms of subject category, the coverage is wider, which can more comprehensively reveal the progress of the subject and fully reflect the cross-disciplinary research.

● In terms of subject system, paper-level subject classification is adopted, and the normalized granularity is more precise, which can avoid the evaluation bias caused by chasing hot spots, and give more reasonable evaluation weights to basic research and unpopular research.

● Compared with the journal impact factor, the transcendence index is less susceptible to the influence of extreme values, and can more objectively reflect the overall level of a journal.

22-year partition table index: instead of using the "three-year average impact factor", it will be replaced by the "journal surpassing index"

The way the upgraded version builds the thesis-level topic system makes up for the shortcomings of the basic version. In the upgraded version of the partition table, the impact factor is no longer the only or decisive factor for the partition.

What is the Journal Excellence Index?

The Intelligence Center uses a graph to show the advantages of journals beyond the index:

It avoids the following situations:

1. An ultra-highly cited paper raises the overall average

2. Unpopular subjects are neglected

3. The average index is easily considered to be manipulated

4. The interdisciplinary nature of journals cannot be reflected

Quadra Kill!

How is the transcendence index calculated? I just copy-pasted its algorithm. . . I don't understand either. .

2022 Division Table Periodicals Collection

In 2022, the journal scope and category setting of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Documentation and Information Center Journal Division Table (referred to as the "Journal Division Table") will remain consistent with the previous year. Periodical adjustments mainly involve the category division of newly added periodicals and the change of categories and subcategories of a few original periodicals.

The periodicals included in the journal division table in 2022 are natural science periodicals (SCIE), social science periodicals (SSCI) and Chinese periodicals (natural science + social science) included in ESCI .

2022 periodical division table, set 18 major categories: Mathematics, Physics and Astrophysics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Earth Science, Environmental Science and Ecology, Agriculture and Forestry Science, Biology, Medicine, Psychology, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, Management, economics, law, education, humanities and general journals.
