After two days of intensive exchanges and in-depth discussions, the 2023 Qingyuan Academic Annual Conference came to an end on June 11. This is a closed-door academic exchange event centering on young scholars in the field of AI. It aims to build a platform for members of the Qingyuan Association to reunite, exchange academic views, and imagine future development. More than 60 young scholars and senior experts participated in this event .
Reviewing academic experience and colliding with insights
On the morning of the first day of the event on June 10, Huang Tiejun, dean of Zhiyuan Research Institute, shared his academic career in the computer field for more than 30 years since he was admitted to the university in 1988, and his personal academic ideals echoed the torrent of the times. Shi Jiaxin, a new academic star who just joined Google DeepMind, also shared his insights on the research process of the diffusion probability model. Li Yunyao, head of the machine learning group of the Apple Knowledge Graph Platform, and others shared their academic experience and career development over the past 10 years. All participants conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on research and innovation experiences related to institutions and individuals.

In the afternoon of the same day, the members of the Qingyuan Association and participating scholars held cross-group academic discussions on four themes. The topics of discussion were AI systems, model technology, AI entrepreneurship, and the essence of intelligence. He Shuibing, a researcher at the School of Computer Science at Zhejiang University, Zhou Yanqi, a research scientist at Google, Liu Yinhan, the founder of Birch.ai, the author of RoBERTa, and Ma Lei, a researcher at Zhiyuan Research Institute, served as the moderators for each group discussion. The members shared enthusiastically, collided with each other, and filled the room with insights and heartfelt words.

During the dinner, everyone welcomed the fireside chat in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Zhang Hongjiang, chairman of Zhiyuan Research Institute, shared his deep expectations for young researchers, and his sincere speech aroused thunderous applause. On the second day of the event on June 11, the group went to Badaling Great Wall for outdoor activities in the morning. With green mountains and green waters, and beautiful scenery, everyone got to know each other, exchanged ideas, and established a deep relationship during the play.

This Qingyuan Academic Annual Conference not only provided an opportunity for members of Qingyuan Association to communicate freely, but also built more communication windows among members besides academic exchanges. Unlike the bustling downtown Beijing, Yanqing is beautiful and quiet. The trip to Yanqing of the Qingyuan Academic Annual Conference was full of atmosphere of relaxation, freedom, equality, vitality, exploration and innovation. Young scholars from all over the country freely displayed their innovative thinking and unique insights. I was deeply shocked by the outstanding scholars and experts at the annual meeting. It was the first time to participate in the offline activities of Qingyuanhui, and I learned a lot about all aspects of work related to artificial intelligence.
