Microsoft releases Windows Copilot preview for Windows 11

At the Build 2023 conference last month, Microsoft announced the addition of an AI assistant called Windows Copilot to Windows 11 .

This is a sidebar tool integrated into the operating system that helps users with various tasks such as content summarization, rewriting, paraphrasing, etc. Microsoft said that Copilot can make every user a high performer and improve work and study efficiency.

Copilot will not completely replace the current search function on Windows 11, but exists relatively independently. It has an independent button, and users can obtain corresponding AI capabilities after clicking.

Today, Microsoft released a new Windows 11 beta version to users (Windows Insiders) who joined the test through the Dev Channel- built-in Windows Copilot preview.

To experience Windows Copilot, users need to be running Windows Build 23493 and above, and Microsoft Edge version 115.0.1901.150 and above.

Users can launch Windows Copilot by simply clicking a new button (or WIN + C) on the taskbar. Windows Copilot will log in with a Microsoft account or an Azure Active Directory account.

The first preview version focuses on the integrated UI experience, and future versions will gradually add additional features.

As shown in the image above, Windows Copilot appears as a sidebar on the right side of the screen, does not overlap with desktop content, and can function normally next to open application windows to interact with Windows Copilot at any time.
