After installing the Raspberry Pi OS (Raspberry Pi OS with Desktop), when you start it for the first time, it will be shown in the following two pictures, allowing you to select the regional time zone and language.
The default language of the Raspberry Pi is English. If you did not select it during installation, the default region is UK, the language is British English (keyboard layout is UK), and the time zone is London.
At this time, you should select the country/language/time zone as China/Chinese/Shanghai as mentioned in our other blog post ( Installing the Raspberry Pi OS) operating system .
If you failed to select the country/language/time zone correctly at the first startup, then you can refer to the following steps to modify it.
1) the first step
Select Preferences-->Raspberry Pi Configuration in the start menu and click
2) The second step
The following dialog box pops up, locale area, timezone time zone, keyboard keyboard layout, wireless LAN Country wireless network area
3) The third step
Click Set Locale/Set Timezone/Set Keyboard/Set WLAN Country at the back respectively to set as shown in the figure below
Set Locale
Click Set Locale, we can see in the pop-up dialog box that the current language is British English, the country is British, and the character group is UTF-8
Click en (English) and select zh (Chinese) in the following dialog box that pops up
The country (country)/character set (character set) corresponding to the following figure will automatically change to China (CN China) and GB18030, no need to modify it again, just click OK
The system will pop up the following dialog box to indicate that it is setting, wait for a few minutes, and it will be completed automatically.
Set Timezone
Next, click Set Timezone to change the time zone from Europe (Area: Europe) and London (London) to Asia (Area: Asia) and Shanghai (Location: London) in the pop-up dialog box
Set Keyboard
Next, click Set Keyboard to modify the keyboard layout in the dialog box that pops up, and click OK to confirm.
Set WiFi Country
Next, click Set WiFi Country to modify the WiFi country in the dialog box that pops up, from GB Britain (UK) to CN China, and click OK to confirm.
Confirm the changes:
Finally, in the figure below, click OK to confirm the modification, the system will prompt you to restart to take effect, press Yes to confirm and the Raspberry Pi will restart to take effect
the fourth step
After the system restarts, you will see that the menu has changed to Chinese
