The world's first RISC-V laptop ROMA is officially released, and it is equipped with the openKylin operating system by default!

On March 26, 2023, the 10th Open Source Operating System Annual Technical Conference (OS2ATC) was successfully held in Beijing. In the finale of the main venue, the launch of the RISC-V development notebook ROMA was ushered in. At the meeting, Jianshi Technology and Deepin Data Intelligence, strategic partners of the openKylin community, announced the official release of the world's first RISC-V development laptop ROMA, which is equipped with the openKylin operating system by default!

Among them, Liang Yuning, the founder and CEO of Jianshi Technology, showed the relevant design and functions of ROMA. Yu Jie, secretary general of the openKylin community, introduced the progress and planning of the openKylin operating system in RISC-V.

ROMA is the world's first native RISC-V development laptop led by the RISC-V Foundation, deeply developed by digital intelligence, and debugged by Jianshi Technology. It allows you to experience native RISC-V development and the RISC-V software ecosystem.

Superior performance of ROMA

  • 12nm (professional version)/28nm (standard version) SoM package;
  • Quad-core RISC-V laptop with GPU, NPU and function accelerators;
  • Upgradable SoC board.

As a RISC-V laptop, the release of ROMA provides more possibilities for the ecological application of RISC-V, and truly realizes the advancement of RISC-V from the Internet of Things field to the general desktop field.

In addition, in the afternoon of the same day, Zhang Chao, a member of the technical committee of the openKylin community, was invited to attend the OS2ATC programming technology sub-session, and brought everyone the theme sharing of "KylinOS SDK and IDE Technology Sharing".

As the root community of the domestic desktop operating system, openKylin has been paying close attention to and continuously investing in the ecological construction of the RISC-V architecture since its establishment, and is committed to building the collaborative development of the operating system and the software and hardware ecosystem of the RISC-V architecture. In the future, openKylin will work with community partners to continue to make efforts in the field of RISC-V, cultivate root technologies with root communities, promote new ecology with root technologies, and jointly promote the prosperity and development of RISC-V ecology.

The openKylin (Open Kylin) community aims to take "co-creation" as the core, on the basis of open source, voluntariness, equality, and collaboration, to build a partner ecosystem with enterprises in an open source and open way, and to jointly create a top-level desktop operating system community. Promote the prosperity and development of Linux open source technology and its software and hardware ecology.

The first batch of council member units in the community include Kylin Software, Puhua Basic Software, Zhongke Fangde, Kylin Principal, Meditation Software, Yiming Software, ZTE New Fulcrum, Yuanxin Technology, China Electronics 32, Jide System, Beijing Lin Zhuo, Advanced Operating System Innovation Center and other 13 industry colleagues and industry organizations.
