Three stages of IT informatization

This client is a group company with an annual income of nearly 100 billion. The person who summed up this sentence is the group's vice president of finance, financial and business experts. He has also trained and learned technology before, and he has written code himself, so he is not good at technology. Unfamiliar with informatization.
In his own words, this is his concept of informatization. This sentence sounds very simple, but if many people realize it on their own, it may be difficult to reach such a height in cognition. Informatization has never been isolated. There are three stages of following, synergizing and leading the business. No matter how your technology changes in the future and how your business develops, the essence of informatization is still these three stages, which are summarized very clearly. Even many friends who don't understand information technology, I believe they can understand it as soon as they hear it. This is the way to simplicity.

Follow, coordinate to lead
What is following? In the process of enterprise IT informatization construction, the occurrence and growth of business must be earlier than IT informatization. The so-called following means being able to achieve basic and daily support. Run the offline process smoothly and move it online, first solve the problems of daily business flow and business efficiency, and ensure the normal operation of daily business. At this stage, it is business-oriented, and the business puts forward goals and requirements. IT starts from a technical point of view and thinks about how to implement it through technical means.
What is synergy? The construction of IT informatization has been deepened to a certain extent, and the coupling degree of technology and business has reached a certain height. Technology goes deep into business, not only from the perspective of technology, but also from the perspective of business, thinking from the perspective of the overall business. In order to achieve common goals, participate in business planning together, and accelerate the implementation of such planning through information technology. At this stage, just like fighting a war, everyone cooperates to fight, divides the work, and has the same goal.
What is leading? Business growth, business internal efficiency, and original business methods have reached a certain bottleneck, and technology is needed to drive business growth or even change. Through the previous informatization construction process, more bottlenecks restricting business growth have been exposed, but the business may not know how to solve or break the situation. At this time, technology is needed to contribute more wisdom to drive the secondary and tertiary growth of the business . For example, in the automobile distribution industry, the repair we mentioned. These three stages are not absolute in the process of enterprise informatization. It does not mean that we will only follow in the past two years, cooperate in two years, and lead in three years. It can be partially crossed. Some departments rely on technology to advance their business, while others may just start.
We have seen that the overall informatization construction of many enterprises, the basic business processes have not run smoothly, and the basic informatization construction is incomplete. It is necessary to use data lakes, big data, AI artificial intelligence, and predictive algorithms to lead the digitalization of the group transformation. But it doesn't mean that when enterprises plan and build IT informatization, everyone can't go ahead and do some challenging and verifying explorations and attempts. These things can be done, but the overall informatization construction should be based on the long-term. When it is time to deepen the foundation, it is still necessary to deepen the foundation, and when it is time to look forward, it is still necessary to look forward.
Therefore, our phased goals for informatization construction should first support and follow the business, then strive to achieve the same frequency as the business, and then gradually surpass and lead. Haste makes waste.
