Android 13 final beta released

Google is rolling out Android 13 Beta 4 today, the last beta version of Android 13, which will be officially released in the next few weeks.

A big thank you to our developer community for giving us thousands of bug reports and insights that help us optimize APIs, improve features, fix critical bugs, and make the platform more user- and developer-friendly.

For developers, Android 13 Beta 4 is a final beta release following last month's platform stabilization at API level 33.

Google says the following issues have been addressed in Android 13 Beta 4:

  • Fixed an issue where fast connection and disconnection of paired Bluetooth devices could be observed on some devices
  • Fixed occasional crashes of the Google Camera app on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices
  • Fixed when users check for system updates by navigating to Settings > System > System Updates, the system would incorrectly report Android 12 as the device's Android version, even though the device has been successfully updated to Android 13 version.
  • Fixed an issue where the Now Playing page on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices would sometimes get stuck on the downloaded song database
